Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered plainly.

Two sets of questions: one for people looking for housing, one for the organizations referring them. Where a policy varies by residence, we say so rather than guess.

Resident Questions

What is shared living?

Several adults live in one house. You have your own personal living space, and the kitchen, living room, dining area, laundry and outdoor areas are shared. A house manager supports the day-to-day running of the household. Because the cost of the home is shared, it is more affordable than renting alone.

Are rooms private or shared?

It depends on the residence. Some rooms are private and some are shared. We tell you exactly which type is available before anything is agreed, so there are no surprises on move-in day.

What is included?

An Eagle Harbor residence is set up to provide a furnished bedroom, furnished common areas, an equipped kitchen, laundry and house management, with utilities included where applicable. The Shared Living page lists what is currently offered.

Are utilities included?

Electricity, water, internet and standard household utilities are included where applicable. Policies may vary by residence. Contact Eagle Harbor for current information.

Is Wi-Fi included?

Wi-Fi is provided at Eagle Harbor residences where applicable. Policies may vary by residence. Contact Eagle Harbor for current information.

Is furniture provided?

Yes. Residences are furnished, including the bedroom and common living areas, so you can move in without buying or moving furniture.

Is food included?

No. Residents buy and prepare their own food. Kitchens are equipped with appliances, cookware and household essentials so you can cook for yourself.

Can I bring furniture?

Residences are already furnished, so there is usually no need. If you have something specific you would like to bring, ask us — it depends on the room and the residence.

Can I receive mail?

Yes. Residents can receive mail at their residence. Details are confirmed at move-in.

How long can I stay?

Eagle Harbor is intended to provide stable, ongoing housing rather than a short stay. Specific terms are set out in your housing agreement. Policies may vary by residence. Contact Eagle Harbor for current information.

Are visitors permitted?

Each residence has a guest policy, which we go through with you before move-in. Policies may vary by residence. Contact Eagle Harbor for current information.

Are pets permitted?

Pet policies vary by residence. If you have a pet, or need an assistance animal, tell us early and we will let you know what is possible.

Is there a house manager?

Yes. Every Eagle Harbor residence has a house manager who supports household operations and helps maintain a safe, clean and respectful residential environment. A house manager is not a caregiver, nurse or supervisor.

How do I request housing?

Fill in the housing request form. It is short, and we will come back to you about availability and next steps.

How quickly can I move in?

That depends on current availability in the area you need. Because our residences are furnished and move-in ready, there is no delay for setting up a room once a placement is agreed.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment arrangements are confirmed during the placement process, and in some cases an organization or program pays housing costs directly. Policies may vary by residence. Contact Eagle Harbor for current information.

Referral Partner Questions

How do I refer someone?

Use the referral form. It captures the referring organization, the resident’s contact details, the area and timing needed, and the anticipated payment source.

What information is required?

The organization name and a contact with phone and email, the resident’s name, and enough about the housing situation for us to assess fit. Please do not send diagnoses, clinical records or financial account details through the public form.

How quickly will Eagle Harbor respond?

We aim to respond promptly to every referral. If a placement is time-sensitive — a discharge date, for example — say so in the form and we will treat it accordingly.

Can organizations pay housing costs directly?

Yes. Organizations and programs can be the payment source for a resident’s housing. Indicate the anticipated payment source on the referral form and we will confirm the arrangement.

Can an organization reserve beds?

Reserved capacity is one of our partnership models. If your organization needs dependable availability rather than case-by-case placement, talk to us about it.

Do you work with veterans?

Yes. Eagle Harbor works with veterans and with veteran-serving organizations. We are an independent housing provider and not part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Do you work with government agencies?

Yes. We work with federal, state, county and municipal agencies, as well as CRAs, housing programs and homelessness prevention programs.

Can we tour a residence?

Yes. Referral partners can arrange to visit a residence. Contact us and we will set it up.

Can a case manager visit a resident?

Yes. Residents are welcome to receive support from outside providers and case managers while living in an Eagle Harbor residence, and visits can be arranged with the house.

Can Eagle Harbor provide invoices and supporting documentation?

Yes, where applicable. Tell us what your organization’s process requires and we will work to it.

How do we establish an ongoing partnership?

Start with the Partner With Eagle Harbor page, then get in touch. Ongoing referral relationships, reserved capacity and property or program partnerships are all on the table.

Is Eagle Harbor affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs?

No. Eagle Harbor Residences is an independent housing provider. Eagle Harbor may work with veterans, veteran-serving organizations and government agencies, but it is not part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
